Riverbanks Zoo Garden is one of my very favorite places to shoot in Columbia. And there’s hardly a better time to go than right in the heat of summer. So we started early and tried to beat the scorching heat!
Baby T was absolutely adorable! He’s not even a year old and is walking like a champ. So precious!
This is from a shoot I did last time I went to Louisiana. We went all over the LSU campus and Baton Rouge getting these great shots. He is a professional swing dancer (with a day job that pays the bills) and so it was fun seeing him swing her around. They were so much fun! I’m looking forward to doing her bridal session next month.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Miss “S” and Mr. “W.” They are so adorable and were a lot of fun to shoot! Here are a few of my favorite shots:
We went with Will’s family on our first annual beach vacation to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. I have so many great shots from the trip, so I’ll be posting them sporadically. Here are a couple of my favorites. Baby girl pics to follow soon….
Jessica, 5 kids and I made it over to the zoo yesterday for a little mini-session. She watched my 3 and I took turns with Kendall and Cooper. I’ve had a vision of photos of Kendall in a white dress for MONTHS now, and we finally were able to make it happen. Of course, we chose the day that ***3000*** other schoolchildren chose to go on a fieldtrip. AND, we also chose the time (right when they opened) that they still had the sprinklers on. Despite all of that, we still got some beautiful shots. Enjoy!
There’s just something about my middle child Zachary that just makes my heart leap with joy every single time he smiles. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he’s mine, or maybe he’s just really THAT cute. He doesn’t like to cooperate with me when I have the camera, so I took full advantage of the 10 seconds that he did look and smile at the same time. My baby boy is getting so big!
While we were in Lafayette, I was able to do a session with a wonderful family. Carrie and I have been friends for many years. In fact, she used to babysit me and my brother and sister when we were young. It’s crazy to think now that we both have three kids practically the same age!
She just had their third baby boy, Forest. So we did a combined newborn and family session at her parents’ house in the country. Beautiful, beautiful property!!
The middle son Deacon LOVES hair. Anyone’s hair. It was completely hysterical that they bribed this child with “hair time” to get him to cooperate. Immediately, this is what he did:

My sweet sister and her fiance Brandon are getting married later this year, and I was honored when she asked me to take her engagement and bridal photos (Note to self: don’t screw these up!). So the kids and I trekked it down to Louisiana so I could do their session, among many other things. Both attended LSU, so it was a natural choice to do their shoot there. Hands down, the most gorgeous campus ever. No question about it. We were all pleased with the results. What do you think?
I took the kids to Riverbanks Zoo this morning in their Easter clothes, and here are a few of my favorite shots! Their garden is a couple of weeks away from being in full bloom. The garden is always lovely, but it is absolutely breathtaking when everything is in bloom! Don’t think I won’t be there to catch it all!!!
